just to add my two penneth if thats ok ? i have read the posts on here and agree with most of them, re-mortgage, bank loan, lottery win, whichever way you do it you will love having a motorhome. i went down the deposit and finance route. However i would disagree with the posts about cheap holidays when you have a motorhome. i may have this totally wrong but please let me have your comments !!

Purchase price ? Average £20000

Trip every fortnight £ 50.00 diesel, £ 30.00 camp site

Yearly service ( assuming you are not a mechanic ) £200.00

Fortnight in France on campsite £ 350.00 ( incl ferry )

Therefore over 3 years the motorhome would cost approx £28000, or nearly £200 per week - now that is not cheap, that would be a decent hotel every fortnight over the same period of time, with meals thrown in. And i havent included tyres, all the bits we buy as extras etc.

Having said the above i would rather part with my right arm than the van - but as a cheap source of holidays ? i dont think so unless you have disposable income to buy the van outright.

we are where we are - where are we ?
