I know everything in the states is bigger, but these are truly huge moggies. I think my four cats and two ferrets would not weigh as much as them.

Hi Annie,

It's the other way around! The ferrets are pets not working ferrets, but the cats are terriffied of them.

Th ferrets live outside in hutches inside a secure ferret shed, but they come in for exercise when we know the cats are safely outdoors.

The ferrets can smell the cats and act aggressive. When the cats come in they get the scent of the ferrets and flee.

Ferrets are funny. Amazingly fast diggers. When we first let them loose in the kitchen they attacked a potted palm and dug it out of its pot in seconds. Then we found the folwoing advice on the web...

'move potted plants as ferrets are convinced something good lies at the bottom of the pot..'

before we got  them some books said only the males smell. Not true! One their droppings are very like cats or dogs only smaller. Two they have a distinct ferret smell which is barely noticable out of doors but very evident inside!

We tried keeping them in but it didnt work.

Hi,

They are fun but have their moments. Soemtimes they leap around making a funny noise which is quite scary.
