We agree although a few more years inside would have been better. So many people have lost money because of Finney, fortunately we got ours back but there was still the inconvenience of it all plus although it couldn't be proved we are convinced it was him who stole our van and somebody elses as they disappeared from his premises within a couple of weeks from each other. Ours was a new van with hardly any miles on the clock but the police eventually found it a few months later badly damaged. It was too much of a coincidence considering his so called security.
The vans were stolen the same time ours was in, and I agree with your thoughts entirely. I truly believe the only reason ours didn't get "stolen" too is that it had a tracker fitted, otherwise I'm sure it would have suffered the same fate.
Like you say, even though you got your money back, it's not the point due to the inconvenience and stress.
I love my van now, particularly as I know it's not going to harm us.
I hope you can get over this and carry on enjoying your van as we have done and hope that Finney never gets the chance to do any more dangerous conversions and scam anyone else. Safe travels to you!
We've put it firmly behind us now. We lost a lot of money that we'll never get back, but at least we managed to get hold of our van, although it needed completely stripping, damage repaired and the conversion done all over again (properly) all at our own expense. Life's too short to let it ruin our lives. We're looking forward to our future, which despite all this is a lot more rosy than his. I have to commend CWAC Trading Standards - they were excellent and made sure all the technical evidence was collated to achieve the conviction for the deadly gas and electric fittings, plus all the other problems (too many to mention).
We love our van now and spend every weekend away - just back from a week in Norfolk.
3 years what a joke its taken me 3years to get my van up to a reasanable standard but at least i am able to get away now just got back from atrip to north wales and nothing went wrong
Glad to hear that you have got your van sorted and are enjoying it now. Nothing could ever compensate us the victims for what he has put us through. The thousands of pounds it has cost us putting things right again and the money he has taken from us not to mention the stress he has caused everyone, it should have been a 10 year sentence just for the fact that he has endangered lives as well as all the other stuff, 10 years being 10 years and not half of the 3 years he will probably serve inside. Anyway rant over good luck to everyone for the future and lots of happy travelling.
