can i ask for fellow motorhomers for there opinion as to drink the water from the onboard tank or not, even if one has cleaned out the tank with Milton
I never drink water direct from the tank, even if I've just sterilized it with Milton. I always keep a bottle of water in the fridge for fresh drinking water. I do use the tank water for cooking, filling kettle, and cleaning my teeth.

We have stralized the tank a couple of times but we still do not drink the water. We do wash up with it though.

I've never been ill from using the tank water for the kettle, or cooking, or cleaning my teeth. It must be ok because i've been using motorhomes for over 12 years, and even full timed for 2 years. But i like to know that drinking water is really fresh, and its much better chilled from the fridge.
We use a water filter, which is filled up from a water container, for drinking, filling the kettle and cooking. Use the onboard tank for teeth, hand washing and washing up.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
We never drink the tank water, wash with it cook with it, boil hot water for drinks, but use fresh drinking water from a seperate 5 litre container. kiev
Never had a problem drinking from MH Tanks. Empty them when you are not using the van, clean out once or twice a year.
Lets face it, how often do you clean out the inside of your water pipes at home, and how much water is standing in the length of pipe running from your home to where it has been cleaned?
Hi, I find it easier to get an 8 pack of 2 litre bottles of water from Lidl only about £2 and spread them around the van, saves having a big container to trip over. And the 2 litre bottles are easy to fill when needed.
We are new to MH-ing but we find that milton is the devil to get rid of for the taste but when we ran camps in france staying 5 months in one spot we used to find that green water was commonplace as the white water carrier let sunlight in but apart fron a pondy smell it never did us any harm but mostly it was boiled as I drink French water without ever having a problem.
We always drink from a plastic bottle that we fill when we arrive on site and it fits in the fridge and we just fill it up as needed and keep another in the van for cooking so it is not too cold. The kettle is always kept full and we manage fine. I would never drink the tank water but not because of any problem just don't like the thought of it.
