Bob, behave!........... I think if you want better performance from your van Etc you need a bigger engine or cut the weight down. Most of these gismos you buy, don't make a difference you notice on the road, even fitting a turbo to an old diesel can not get it up hills any better.
not true at all.
Depends on what van you have and what engine you have.
If you have an ECU controlled engine, then they can be remapped for better performance and or economy. I have had mine done and the difference is quite amazing. Some will tell you that it increases engine malfunction, This is also not true unless it's carried out poorly or that it is done with the intention of racing the vechile. I kid you not but as a way of trying mine out on a once off i managed to cruise at 85mph and could easily do 90 mph without a problem before I got scared on the M5. I use mine to just get that bit of extra oomph uphill really.
The other alternative is a plug in kit. These are meant to do the same as a remap. Some say they work others say they notice no difference. My advice would be go for the complete re-map. mine only cost £300 ish I added a KnN filter also to just make it breath easily.
One thing you must do with a remap is not to let the services run out, keep your oil clean, dont use the van as a racing machine;
Hope this helps. if you are interested I will post the details of the computer geek whom done mine.
I note you have a fiat ducatto. I also have one which is a 2003 model 2-0
