Good morning

Praise where praise is due - purchased the motorhome from Andrew at B. Miller & Sons in Poole (Dorset Hymer Center) gave me a full run around yesterday. Proper professional people.

Couple of questions for this forum, the cooker, heating and fridge run on propane. Apparently this is the standard fit for this type of motorhome. Do any members know whether it is possible to run these appliances on butane or am I better off leaving it how it is. Your advice is appreciated. 

We're off to Bashley in the New Forest this weekend to for a dry run to try all of our new equipment out.

Any ideas what the split is for motorhomes between propane/butane? Next question - have a gas bbq that will run on either - which gas will work better - or is there no difference? I've checked out previous mails on here, but with no difinitive answer.

We ran ours in our Hymer on butane first as we had spare bottles around, but as we planned to use all year round we have now switched to two 6kg propanes.

Propane works in lower temperatures than Butane, so you can use all year round without problems, the only advantage with Butane is that due to the nature of it you get slightly more in the same size bottle.

Personally if you have got to get new bottles, go for Propane.
