hi,we pick up our new motorhome next week which has onboard waste and water tanks.i was wandering if our aquaroll and wastemaster which we used when caravanning will still be of any use??

It will all depend on how you intend to use your MH.  If you only stay on a site for a couple of nights and can refill/dump, then they only take up space.  If you are parking up for any longer then they can be used as it saves having to up sticks to move to refill/dump.

I bought both when we got our MH along with a submersible pump, but have as yet to use them.  The long term plan however is to join the snowbirds in Spain and that is when they will come into play.

I kept my aquaroll and waste container from my caravan. So far havent used the aquaroll as we have had access to a tap and used our blue hose to top up with water. We have used the waste container to empty the waste tank and then dump the water at the appropriate point rather than have to manoever the van. They do take up vital space but we usually store them outside when we get to a site and leave them there until we are leaving. I know someone could steal them but so far so good. Only done 3 trips so far so in the MH so still learning!

We bought a wastehog to use with our MH and find it very usefull, it stops us having to move the van and also not all sites have a motorhome point to empty the tanks over and some are in an awkward position, we keep it under our fixed bed so storage isn;t a problem for us, but we wish we had bought the wastemaster as the hog is a bit chunky and dosn't always fit under the van very easly, but has you have the master that wont be a problem for you.

I am also a new MH owner.    I need a Wastehog or a Wastemaster but my outlet is only 235 mm from ground level.   Which will fit???   The supplying companies are difficult to communicate with and dont seem to offer dimensions..  HELP?

From my meagre experience    (four trips)   you NEED a bulk means of transfering water and grey water to/from the MH.

We have an aqua roll and waste master which we take away only if planning to stay on camp sites for a few days or more. I find it is easier to empty the van tanks often especially when using the shower and stops the van tanks for getting smelly too. We have a short piece of flexible pipe that goes from our waste outlet into the wastemaster when on uneven ground where we cant get the tank directly under the pipe.  We have a submersible pump for the aqua roll which makes life far easier than lots of trips with small containers or watering cans as we have seen people doing.

If we are touring we don't bother as we can always park next to the taps for filling with our hose and most places have somewhere to dump the grey tanks too.

I think it would depend on water usage and the type of camping you are doing.

We don't carry either but as others say it is how you use your van, we tend to park up for a couple of days and then go out for a day so we fill and empty on the trip out, remembering to fill up when you first arrive. We use a seven litre watering can for top ups if needed, but again we tend to use the site facilities for showering etc. so do not use a lot of water.

Our van has a extension hose for the waste outlet so if they havn't got a MH service point I can usually reach the standard waste point.

If I need to move the van to fill or empty usualy try to do it when it is the most convienient like just after being out for a walk with the dogs so the wife can hold them and I clear off to the tap, not really had any problems so far.
