I am thinking about a small motor home/camper but have very limited budget.
It would have to be small enough to be an everyday vehicle, ideally capable of sleeping 3 (small double and a single) but not in beds where you have to climb up to them. A toilet would be good but can do without a shower. It needs to be able to go up hills on single track roads in Scotland.
Budget is about £4000. There is a possibility of buying a small very cheap car to use as a runaround.
As this will be an much older vehicle, are there any base vehicles which should be avoided, what would be a reasonable maximum length of vehicle and what sort of mileage should I be aiming for? .
I am going tenting next weekend and am a bit fed up trying to compress the kit down to the minimum to fit in my car. The car is unable to be parked close to my home so being able to just up an go really appeals. I wouldn't be comfortable towing so a caravan or trailer is out, plus they increase the ferry costs to the western isles.
