We visited Silverstone of both Saturday and Sunday and we could clearly see that the campsite in Silverstione village had motorhomes and again in the public carparks at the track. Mind you given the TV reports a day or two before the race I can understand why they may have said no motorhomes. In fact one campsite said that cars would not be allowed to park next to caravans. Not quite sure how they were getting the vans in! On Sunday we arrived a bit later and were parked on one of the field carparks and even then ground conditions were not too good but better for having 3 days without rain. It seems that alot of people stay in the carparks over night for which they charge an extra £10 so that might be a option in the future. There were certainly chemical style toilets but did not check if there was water available.

What does it cost to get Silverstone Grand Prix tickets? I know my hubby is an avid fan and loves watching it all on tv and so I thought tickets for next year's event might be a good idea for a christmas, anniversry or birthday present. I dont know much about the Grand Prix myself so have no idea when Lewis Hamilton (is that the correct name for the british lad?) is likely to race there again so any suggestions or ideas for a racing fan would be appeciated.

It depends on what sort of tickets you buy. We had a three day pass which cost £200 each but that included a Grandstand ticket plus £15 for parking on Race Day. You can get a three day ticket for as little as £100 but you will have to take your own chairs as for this price its just an open area around the track. Check the T&C's as even with these tickets you might be able to have a seat in one of the Grandstands on the Saturday. Have a look here http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/home.php

Son went for 3 days said before he went couldn't camp but did in the end.   Got tickets with seat number on but when got there others were in there seat and no one seemed to care. 

We went to Silverstone on thursday evening. On arrival we were told they could not accept us due to the bad weather. The guy on the entrance also said a full refund would be given. I have e.mailed them but have not yet had a reply. I read on the net somewhere that they were not giving any refunds, which if true is disgusting, they have pocketed the money and given no service. Has anybody had similar experience.

Silverstone are offering 3 days for £139 with grandstand if you book before October, that seems good. Do you then have to book the campsite.   What is T&C I would like to buy OH and I grandstand tickets.

Thanks for the infomation. I doubt we will be going next year. I wanted to go to see what it was like. Although its very exciting with an amazing atmosphere and I would encourage you to give it a go I think next year we will watch on the TV. If we attend another GP I think it will be elsewhere in Europe just to see what  different circuit is like.
