I used to have a 1990 Autosleeper Frisky on a Transit base and I agree this is nothing like it. The colours are all wrong, the logo is all wrong, the furniture is not right.
Perhaps someone should ask Autosleepers about it?

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
That's what I thought Caz - looks like a dodgy homebuild to me.
The reason I asked about this is because a friend is thinking of buying it. I just wanted to confirm that it wasn't a genuine Autosleeper - I think I'll advise him to steer clear!
I think this is a play on words. It is not an Autosleeper but an automobile that you can sleep in. So they have called it an Auto-sleeper.
Not very subtle but I guess technically they can do it because they have hyphenated the name so they are not really making claim to it being made by Autosleeper the company.
I am sure there is no law against painting that wording on the side of a vehicle either.
Owing to the fact that many campsites won't allow commercial vans it is probably not a bad idea to make it look as close as possible to a purpose made motorhome. It looks like a nice van to me but the main thing with campervans of course is whether or not the engine, bodywork, and mechanics are in good roadworthy condition because if not you end up with a static that isn't going anywhere!
The friend of mine who was interested in it went to take a look, and it wasn't very good at all.
It's a homebuild (although not built by the current seller, who just bought it to tart up and sell quickly) - the seller sprays cars for a living. Apparently, the wings, sills and scuttle were full of filler (the wheel arches being almost solid fibreglass). There was paint bubbling all over the place where he'd rushed spraying the filler and it hadn't gone off properly and rust was already coming through in places. When the cab carpet was lifted, the floor was a rusty mess and the interior design was 'interesting' to say the least (who ever heard of a 'three berth' van where all three people had to share the same bed?!). The seller had bought the 'Autosleeper' decals and carefully worded his e-bay advert (he claimed to not know about the genuine manufacturer of the same name Wink ).
To be honest, I pity whoever bought this van - it'll lbe a rusty mess in six months and isn't worth a fraction of it's ebay sale price. Just goes to show that ebay descriptions and photo's aren't worth a bean - buyer beware.
