My mum is seriously considering a small diesel campervan, but one that will fit in her newly built standard sized garage. She mentioned a Hi-Lo. My concern would be they look good, but, you would hardly have room to swing a cat when 2 people have their luggage, sleeping bags etc etc.
Please can I have your feedback regarding small campervans,
Which would fit in garage , What you think of them etc
We met someone who'd spent 4 weeks pootling round Ireland in one, but I think you'd have to be very friendly !!
It depends on the kind of camper and camping that suits them. Everyone is different - we have downsized from A class to VW T4 over 18 years - and wouldn't go back, it's all about compromise and is VERY personal.
good luck to them whatever they opt for

But itīs all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya canīt please everyone, so ya got to please yourself

We've had a small motorhome in the past (Romahome Duo), we how have a slightly larger Romahome Dimension. We love small motorhomes, yes they are compact but a bit like a Tardis really lots of storage space, also very easy to drive, a bit like driving a car, easy to park, they will fit into an ordinary parking space and if you have a Hi-lo you don't have to worry about height barriers etc. The Hi-lo and Duo will also do an amazing 45-50 mpg that's a big consideration in these days of high petrol prices.
See the link to our website below lots of info on smallmotorhomes.
Hi there
We have a small Romahome and find it has everything we need and as long as we are tidy and methodical we have ample room to sit and for storage. We also have a small awning for longer trips.
Apart from the usual ebay, Autotrader and Exchange and Mart there are a number of other sale sites that seem to have lots of campervans for sale - 'Gumtree' and 'Preloved' to name but two. You coud just try and search on Google for used campervans.
When my Partner and I were looking for a van we searched for almost 6 months before we got one that we were really satisfied with. We are now the proud owners of a very good condition T25VW.
You will get what you want but you have to be patient.
We see several advertised but none that fits mums requirements. It needs to have a pop up roof so that it will fit in her recently built garage, also needs to be a diesel. Is there any other models that would fit in garage apart from the Romahome Hylo.?
The romahome looks wonderful. Can it sleep more than 2? i ask this because I notice it has 4 driving seats as it were. We are 2 adults and one 4 year old - can it be configured. What sort of money are we talking for one of these lovelies and is there much of a 2nd hand market?
They only sleep two, the one with 4 seats is the Duo or the larger Dimension, a child could sleep in the luton, but when the bed is made up as a double it is really kingsize and would take the 3 of you, not sure of the price and there are a few on the 2nd market. Look at Avon Motors of Bristol, his used prices will give you an idea of the price.
The older version on a C15 you can purchase under 5k and run like a dream.
