Just had our first trip in our new campervan - just thought I'd let you know where we went and how we got on!

Spent 10 days in North Wales; first 5 in Bala on a non-club site, near the lake and steam train; second 5 on a club site in Llandystumdwy (great Scrabble word that...) near the beach. Only had a single morning of light rain in the enrite trip, which was a miracle given the summer we've had.

Thought the countryside was spectacular, the pubs friendly, the watersports excellent and cycling knackering - too many hills.

Kids had a great time; made a few friends - especially with a family who had a campervan which was twice the size of ours - like a single decker bus!

Learnt a few useful things about picking sites in the future, such as how close to a main road we would want to be. Spent today cleaning the campervan out inpreparation for a weekend jaunt in September to Lincolnshire - can't wait. I think I'm sold...

Hi Jonny.  Glad to hear that you enjoyed your first motohome experience.  We all make mistakes along the way but hopefully learn from them, I know we have!!

Enjoy your next trip to Lincolnshire.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

Hi everyone

My hubby died in march this year and we were devoted caravaners and tenters. I didnot want to give this up and I managed to bring our dream forward of about 15 years. That dream was to have a motorhome. I purchased a Eldiss advantgarde 200.

On my outings I have had the motorhome wave. Brought back memories of when we towed with our 11A 1961 Land rover and we had landy waves. when we towed with our discovery no one had a wave

I was very nearly rolling on the floor with laughter when I tried sythening water into the fresh water tank. I must have drank more than what went in, so of to the shop for a watering can.

I am really proud of myself and this is the life for me.

Hi Polly

I think you are right to be proud of yourself, I think it takes a lot of guts to go for it as you have.  I am so pleased that you are enjoying it.

Regards

Carol
