Hi

We've just got back from our first trip abroad with our vanessa ( Luner champ H591 )  and just had to tell you what a fantastic time we had, I was a bit worried before we set off, as we'd not driven abroad before, but im so glad we decided to bite the bullet and do it, we went for 6 weeks and I said to my hubby if we havn't got the hang of it by the end we'll stick to Scotland next year.

We took the driving in turns and gradually got more and more confident, got use to the tolls and the motorways where fantastic, some times we where the only people on them!!  buy the time we got to Grenoble and went down the route napoleon, we where feeling a lot more confident ( just as well with the hair pin bends and big drops ).

Vannassa was great, lots of pull up the steep bits, and the layout inside worked really good for us, fixed bed, pullman dinnet, small kitchen, thought it might be a bit cramped with 2 adults and a 15 year old but our son only slept inside for the stops where we stayed 1 night and slept in a pop up the rest of the time.

We only started motorhoming this March but boy are we enjoying it, we're definatly hooked, were hoping to go  skiing in Febuary now were a bit more confident about going abroad, Id recommend it to anybody, if your not sure, go for it.

Anyway happy camping

Great to hear you enjoyed your first "adventure "abroad Fiona

We only started Motorhoming in Dec 06 and have only had trips around the UK.

We plan to drive to go abroad but at the moment we have an elderly Labrador who is a scary mary and would not tolerate a ferry crossing or a trip through the tunnel, think the shock would kill him!

Although we are both experienced drivers and have driven cars abroad I am sure we will be apprehensive the first time we take our Motorhome abroad......I am sure there will be lots of swearing!

So its good to hear about your successful first trip and be assured there is not a lot to worry about

Well done you!

Val

Now that you have been, I bet you will go again instead of spending your time in this unfriendly country for MH's and al the terrible traffic jams. We have been to france twice this summer.
