What is the best type of TV to buy?  Do we opt for an expensive 12 volt or do we get a "normal" tv and an adaptor.

Any-one know the pros and cons?

I brought a 15" lcd tv with built in dvd player £168 from tesco,  when we're not on hook up we use our 8oo watt inverter £43 from macro.

We bought an Avtex 19" LCD 12 volt tv/dvd/cd combi from Transleisure at the York show. We decided upon this 12 volt TV due to it being specifically aimed at boats/motorhomes/caravans etc and has been designed to cope with voltage drops in your leisure battery. If you are always likely to use EHU I would think any normal 240 volt tv would be more than satisfactory and a lot cheaper too but as we often wildcamp and rely on our leisure batteries for power we felt this model may be more suitable for us. I am no expert on such matters so have relied on the experts to advise us but we are very happy with our new television and it worked fine all the time we were at York even though our battery level dropped quite low at one point. We have a 12/240volt colour tv we are selling along with our folding camper or it could go seperate. Our is operated from an aerial but it also has a scart connection and could be connected to a digi box.

The 12 v lead plugs straight into a cigarette lighter socket or a 12v socket. 

It is a Thompson as I recall and made in France.

I have no idea on value.
