Thanks for your replies people. Found out today problem larger than we thought! Whilst replacing a shower unit it materialises that the underboards (soz - my chap will know what they are called!) - have got wet & are turning to pulp!
Sadly, it does not stop there (as is so often the case!) and the side of the truck is also pulpy under the skin. Oh dear...it looks like base at rear and side need replacing. Any good repairers you know of?
We are just looking to see where it is coming through - while it is raining. Think it may have initially come from leaky shower head - possibly better than hole in outside skin!?
Anyhow - does anyone know the best 'glue' to re-laminate fibreboard to polystyrene?
I can't help you with that q. either! Pester your local hardware shop for the answer! did you find anyone to repair the van, or find out where the water is getting in? Could it be the shower tray has a leak and water is getting out and spreading underneath? Good luck!
It looks like the water is getting in through a cracked 'mastic' seal that runs from top to bottom of van near the back corner. Side panel is aluminium skin, back panel is GRP. There is a wide bead of sealant down the join, but no rail over the top of the join ( not meant to be).
What should I use to replace this with??....getting confused between mastic and sikaflex!!!! The top face is obviously completely exposed to the elements.
