We've go t no experience of satelite TV, either at home or in the MH, but freeview works well for us.  We have a TV with freeview in it, although did have a spearate TV and freeview before this one.  The Status ariel came fitted when we bought the MH.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

If you look in the equipment section, Biker Jeff has pointed us towards a very cheap option TV with built-in freeview for £99.00 at Argos! My sis has one of these in her caravan. The amount of channels you can get depends on the area really, but I was very impressed - good picture too and just from the mushroom type caravan aerial!

The satellite option looks rather complicated to me.

I've got both, and I reckon the satellite option is better, but only when you are either in the wilds, or if you are in danger of missing sky sports.

On the downside, I always seem to park behind a mountain or tree.

Personally i think its a lot easier to have Freeview. No dish to worry about setting up, or to have fixed to your van with holes drilled.

But the problem you can get with Freeview is with a Omnidirectional Status Ariel, they only really work in high signal strength areas. You are better off getting a slot together aluminium pole and fix a normal household domestic ariel to it, and feed the coaxil through the back door or a window.

I do this and get a perfect signal with all of the digi channels wherever i camp.

We have Status Omnidirectional ariel and freeview and never have a problem with reception.  No setting up of poles or dish.

laptop at £200 with a WinTv (available at argos for £35) plug in the usb port, this converts your laptop to a tv with analogue and digital freeview reception, via your staus ariel.
