Good Morning Everyone

I have a question concerning hookup. Should I leave my MH ON CHARGE all the time when not in use  or should I disconect every 2 days or so.

I have spoken to some people with MH and the answers were different

Hi Dave & Sal, personally I dont leave mine hooked up unless I'm going away, when I hook up the night before.. Whats everyone else do?

I check the batteries every week or so.

If the leisure battery requires a boost I hook up for a day.

With the vehicle battery either a run out or a battery charger until it's charged.

We keep a check on the battery level if we don't use the MH for a few weeks and hook  up if necessary.  On ours the hook up charge bothe the base vehicle and leisure batteries.

We only charge ours for a few hours before we set off,mainly to cool the fridge.

We use it all year round though so I suppose that helps the batteries keep their charge.

My battery flattens after about two weeks on the drive and then I do a quick overnight on hook up to top it up. Is there any problem in allowing the battery to discharge? Should I be hooking up more often.?

When the van is not in use for a few weeks in winter I leave it connected and have a small oil-filled radiator inside set to the 'frost' setting, this helps to keep it dry inside.

Once a week I switch the onboard charger on and charge the leisure battery or the cab battery alternately.
