Anyone know what the parkings like for a 6m motorhome at Bourton on the water, we can fit into standard space with a bit of overhang, from what I remember when we went in the car, it doesn't look good, don't mind a bit of a walk.

Hi Andy

We were at Bourton on the Water about 2 weeks ago.  There is a large carpark beside the garage and there were several motorhomes/campervans in it.  But I would be tempted to get there early as there were no spaces.  There was plenty of coach parking free when we were there but no one to ask.  We did notice vans in the spaces at the front of the garage with pay and display tickets but don't know if this is parking space.

We then tried the other car park plenty of spaces but a height barrier (so annoying).  Unfortunately we had no option but to park in a side street, not what we wanted but we had travelled a long way to visit,

There was a park and ride advertised on signs but I wouldn't want to rely on this as it may not run in the Winter (we hadn't checked beforehand)

Hope this helps, read it at lunchtime but don't like logging in to post from work.

There are plenty of cafes etc in Bourton too.

Thanks, we are stopping at Broadway between chistmas and new year, so just looking for a couple of days out, know where we can park in Tewkesbury, so that will probably be one, and as we have not been to Bourton for about 4 years thought that would be a good day out.

As A coach driver I  know Bourton pretty well , the large coach/car park is privately owned and payment is a must, there is usually someone at the ice cream van, they own that as well, who should be able to help, but perhaps this is only during the summer season, I wouldn't recomend parking in the coach bays. cheers for now,

 Bob

Hi, we were at Bourton today and there were several large motorhomes in the car park by the Texaco garage. Obviously you have to pay (£3.30 for 3 hours at ticket machine but I guess you may need to pay double if you take up 2 spaces) but there didn't seem to be any problem and there were plenty of spaces. Wouldn't have thought you would have a problem in the winter although Bourton is a parking nightmare in the summer!

If you have time and weather permits, it is worth walking from Bourton to Lower Slaughter, a pretty village and not as touristy as Bourton. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get there. Not much there but nice to while away an hour walking along the river.
