Hi, we have a Winnebago Sightseer 29p with a roll out awning, but we need to get side walls but are told they are very hard and difficult to put on, would a drive away awning be any good for this vehicle ? if so how do they fix on ? thanks Theresa

Do you really need the extra space with that size of van?

I would have thought side pieces would be no harder to put on than erecting a driveaway awning which I guess could be fitted with suction clamps--is the roll out awning the original American one? perhaps you could enquire with the maker to see if they do side pieces---the other alternative would be to have your original awning removed & a Fiamma or ommnistor roll out awning fitted, these have removable sides & fronts avaliable as options & are easily fitted & removed--I would say this is your best option.

Hi, Andy Vines, yes we do need the extra space with that size van as we have two german shepherds, and if they are wet after their walk then its a good place for them to dry off, otherwise we would not bother with the awning,

Hi, Billy, thankyou, for the useful info, i will look into that, thanks Theresa

Hi there is a company who go to all the shows that do side and front panels for RV awnings, we have looked at them ourselves, around £400-£500 if I remember rightly.

I think you screw a small fitting in to the side of the van at each end of the awning, and a hole into the roller also at each end. Then a metal tube fits into these, the sidewalls attach to this, the front panel slides into the groove that is already in the roller.

I would think once you have done it a few times it would take 15mins. to set up, Quality look good and they seem very helpful. Only snag is I can't remember their name. If you are interested I will try to hunt it out.

Hi Olley, yes that would be great if you could find the name, I have tried, but without success,
