£400 profit on £40K Rubbish

You could leave £40K  in the bank and make more.

Anybody in business has to get a return and to suggest your going to make a net £400 on £40K is unrealistic

Val I had exactly the same happen when I changed cars a few years ago.  The invoice bore no resemblance to the agreed trade in price whatsoever!

I wonder what they achieve by massaging the figures in this way?  I am guessing less tax but seems mighty dodgy to me.

Yep, I think it is probably something to do with the VAT Ali!

it showed the correct amount we had paid by cheque but the part-ex was £6k less!

I am sure it is very dodgy indeed! Something wrong with "loosing" that amount of money!
