Why should someone receive extra money because they have a disbility, i agree that if they need extra money to buy special items to help them live properly then thats okay, but why do you need extra money if, as you state, that your friend is working 40hrs a week, why can't he do like the rest of us ( I'm a pensioner ) and just manage and as sasquatch says if you can drive around in a motorhome why do you need extra money? it's genuine people who get on with things and don't sponge off the state who suffer in the long run
As I understand it, the DLA which could be paid to people moving within the EU will only be the care component, not the mobility component.
The care component is for those who need someone to help them carry out normal living tasks such as dressing, cooking, washing, bathing etc. This does not mean that these people do not have a brain and can't work.
However,in order to go to work, they need someone to get them up, dressed, washed and ready for work. If they had to pay for this out of their wages, they probably wouldn't be able to afford it.
The mobility component is paid to those who can't walk, or who can only walk for a very short distance. Not all diabled people get both components.
If you are a pensioner and in need of help, you can claim attendance allowance, which may also be paid to people moving to the EU.
I've put the link in for you so that you can get your claim in quickly.

Michael Caine when comparing national traits once said, "the brits are the most envious"! No matter how you've earned or worked for something to better or enjoy your life disabled or not, there's someone here who'll begrudge you even if you're entitled. The way the law and attitudes towards victims of crime is shameful. If Gary Newlove had survived his kicking, and had found to have smacked one of those louts he'd probably have been arrested! Apart from our tolerance and sense of humour, there's not much else to make one feel proud. BA tops in losing luggage, exporting our habit of littering, making war with ill equipped brave soldiers, teachers afraid of pupils, etc, etc. We got caned as kids, but it didn't make us grow up to want to mug people. I hope they find water on Mars, so we can start again before this planet gets ruined completely by Yobs,MP's,Presidents, and all the other miscreants!
Don't let it get you down, keep smiling'!
,Ernie

Remember the days when someone going private caused an outcry? Jumping the queque etc, etc. When I opted for a quicker sinus op privately on a weekend, a 'leftie' friend was outraged. I pointed this out to the surgeon. He said,"do you work overtime?" I said,"Yes". He said,"Well, this is overtime for me, and you've actually made a slot available to someone else on the NHS, even though you've paid into it." My friends principals deserted him when his hip got too painful, so he had it done privately! You choose how you spend your money. I bet most of the begrudging bellyachers spend theirs on booze, fags, and betting. So what? It's your choice. Leave the disabled alone, worry more about the cost of housing the criminals!
Keep Smiling!
Ernie

The problem is, that people that are disabled and claiming benefits all seem to be tarred with the same brush as the fraudsters and spongers.
Someone has a Blue badge and on one day in the year is spotted by someone getting out of a car and walking away. He/she is immediatley labelled as a sponger without anyone knowing their circumstances or what the person had to go through to actually get to that position, on that dayof being able to drive in and walk away. 20 minutes later that person is probably near crawling back to the vehicle in pain.
Im OK, I am disabled but after sufficient medication, still actively work as a musician so dont exist on Benefits, but I am fearfull of the day when my situation gets worse and I have to start claiming benefits.
I KNOW Im going to be recognised and people will start pointing the finger at me just like they did with my mate Ronnie Lane.
Lifes a bitch, then people start having a go.
