We broke our duck this weekend and spent our first night the MH - that was after battling through rain, sleet and breathtaking wind - we may have been very soggy but the dogs seemed to enjoy it.  Thankfully the lovely people at the campsite provided us with a spin dryer for the clothes and hot tea did wonders!!

Saturday night was all about figuring out what we took we didnt need / what we need we didnt take and what work was be to classed as essential before going out in Vinnie the Van again.

Seems we need some door seals (rubber) for the sliding door on our '92 LDV 200 Series (K reg) as the wind was whistling in and if we can get, them two rear doors.

I would be grateful if anyone knows where we can get the spares we need - otherwise I'm only going back when its in excess of 80 degrees!!  LOL

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Liz & Bill

Hi Liz & Bill - There's a slight possibility that we may have to change our towing/camping vehicle in the near future, and one alternative we discussed was an LDV. Can you tell me what the fuel consumption is on one of these, also can you get them in rear-wheel drive? Thanks -

Many thanks for the (very speedy) replies.  We are SOOO impressed with all the help out there and we will be checking out the sites suggested.

Its nice to be asked a question for a change.

Although we only did about 160miles round trip at the weekend so dont have a truly accurate mpg on the trip we did we got 33mpg (BTW Vinnie runs on diesel).  As the engine is not transverse I assume we are a rear wheel drive - certinally drives like one!!  Nor are we PAS which was of concern to me but I neednt have worried I hardly miss it at all.

Now I've warmed up a bit and the dogs equafleeces have arrived we are starting to plan another (longer) trip away in a couple of weeks - it will even better if we can source new doors to keep the wind out by then!!

Once again many thanks for responding.

Liz & Bill (Rosie & Daisy too!)
