I have just purchased omnisat 66 cm dish with satfinder on tripod and spent 2 hours in garden trying to get picture -I connected to our skybox and at one point screen showed locked on OK and good strength of signal however no picture and in trying to find one I lost lock on and couldnt find it again  - despite watching maxview exhibition video several times this thing still isnt happening - can anyone help please. We are north of Edinburgh south of Perth and set elevation at 20 and skew at -0.5 pointing at approx 144 degrees -  would it be worthwhile asking local arial fitter to come to help and any idea how much they might charge?   thanks in anticipation

When I was setting my dish up for the first time I found I had to adjust the elevation of the dish up to nearer 30 degrees to get a picture so maybe experiment with that.

Hi mate

I think you locked onto the wrong sat when you get signal test screen up  lock indicator is OK, Then network ID 0002, Then Transport stream 07d4 any other numbers apart from these means you locked onto wrong sat, so you wont get a picture or sound. When i set mine up i scan from the East your sat is the first one you come to

1.Find North using compass and 2. Point dish due South. (20degree elevation sounds about right for Scotland)   3. If you have Sat finder on your receiver box use it to monitor single strength and Quality. If not use a sat finder from Aldi/Lidl/Maplin.4.You may have to select Astra 2 on your receiver ( at 28.2 E of South) Slowly turn the sat dish to point towards 28 degrees east of south. 5. Slowly move dish side to side in small increments until the strength AND quality levels come good on either the receiver or sat finder. This can be delicate until you get used to it. It does get easier. 6. When you get the best signal you can, just try tilting the sat dish up and down to see if you get more improvement in signal quality and strength. Mine usually show 97% signal level (strength) and 68% quality (which will work fine and give good picture). 7. I then do a Scan on the receiver menu to pick up individual channels available then Store them. 8. You should now be able to change channels and watch TV!       It took me ages to set up my self installed crankup system but I did initiall use an incorrect USA supplied LNB. With practice and using the compass carefully to start with, it all gets much less frustrating. Hope this helps!

just make shore you have the sat receiver box tuned to the sat you have the antenna locked on, if not you wont get a picture, seems silly but my girlfriend seems the find it easy.
