It depends on whether you want to use it on mains electricity or on 12v.  Ours is mains electric and had no problems on any site so far.  I suppose the lower the wattage the better as far as electrics are concerned.   We choose to only ever use one appliance at a time so as not to overload site electrics so we can have a drink, be warm or have something to eat but it's no problem.

I have been looking for a small,light and compact Microwave for the Motorhome,any suggestions on one,someone recommended a Whirlpool Max and I sent for one and it is a monster,far too big for Motorhome use!

We've always had one never had a problem, just dont use kettle etc at the same time

I bought one from a microwave shop that had been professionally de-rated be them to 500W (don`t ask me how, but they certified it as that), they said that a normal microwave of, say, 750W actually will draw approx 1300W when first starting up as it "boosts" then drops back to the desrcibed 750W, it`s this initial surge that will trip your site electrics if they arn`t up to it. The converted one I bought has been modded so it does`nt "boost" when first started, so no chance of it drawing too much current. seems to work fine, and for 500W it`s not much less powerful than the one I have in the house.

Also works fine from my invertor and leasure batteries, though only in emergencies and for a short time.
