Having recently bought a new (ancient) van I am in the process of tidying up my old car to sell. The bumpers had faded a little but the trim around the wheel arches had turned to light grey.
I first tried a can of "Back to Black" spray. It looked great for an hour or so but by next day was no better than it was. I have used this stuff before and must say that if the trim is still reasonably black, it does clean it up and give it a shine. Mine are really bleached grey though.
Back to the shop and got some Car Plan Black Trim Wax. Much better. It still faded by the next day but a second coat has done a good job. It says apply sparingly but I found it best to put it on reasonably generously, let it harden, and buff it up.
As an added bonus I found after accidentally wiping some on the paintwork that it does an incredibly good job of hiding small scratches and chips. Far better than the "special" colored wax I had used earlier. It is a dark blue car though, might not be so good on white or cream.
