We have a fan heater with thermostat from Argos.  We only use it on 1 kw and it has never blown the fuses,  we never use it in conjunction with other heating appliances eg kettle, microwave or toaster.

Same here. We use a small cheap fan heater  with two heat settings and unplug it when boiling the kettle etc..

I would definately go for an oil filled radiator as they are silent and powerful. My 800 heats the the bongo nicely and I can set it to clickon and offwhen its cold overnight - with no noise. you can always get a fan heaterfor emergencies.

Look at the halogen heaters presently available in most camping shops. Priced around £15. they have a folding foot that covers half of the front grid. Auto switch off when tipped. Grid can be touched when heater is on. 2 heating elements. AND we've left it on all night during the winter trips, just 1 bar, to keep the van aired.

Have used it alongside a fan heater in October to warm the awning for sitting late at night.

Have also boiled the kettle and watched TV while all switched on.

May have just been lucky.
