I would suggest you look in Argos for a small blow heater with variable power settings ie 1kw and 2kw. can be stored away quite easily and the lower setting will not trip most EHU, kiev

We have a fan heater with thermostat from Argos. We only use it on 1 kw and it has never blown the fuses, we never use it in conjunction with other heating appliances eg kettle, microwave or toaster.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.

Same here. We use a small cheap fan heater with two heat settings and unplug it when boiling the kettle etc..

I would suggest a small oil heater instead blow heaters in such a small van? think of the noise!, i have a talisman and we use a small oil heater, and its only rated at 700 watts, its good enough to warm the van up nicely and the plus point, no noise, you can pick them up quite cheap from various outlets, i got mine from B&Q for £19.99

I also have an oil filled radiator (500w) in my small romahome, bought from Amazon on-line, but you can get the same thing much cheaper from B&Q, Wilkinsons or Poundstretchers. I find it fits nicely in the footwell by the door and is very effective at heating and also silent, so you can leave it on all night if it's very cold.

Hi Alan
We have a Romahome and use an oil filled mini radiator from Halfords to supplement the heating which is quite noisy. we did use a fan heater one night but the bedding fell on it and we were awoken by the smoke alarm as the bedding started to singe and smoulder. Not good!!!!!!!!

I bought a small Dellongi fan heater from Tesco to use when when were hooked up, I did change the fuse in it to a 3amp just it case it tripped the elecky on the site but it still blasts out great heat and saves on my diesel!

I would definately go for an oil filled radiator as they are silent and powerful. My 800 heats the the bongo nicely and I can set it to clickon and offwhen its cold overnight - with no noise. you can always get a fan heaterfor emergencies.

Look at the halogen heaters presently available in most camping shops. Priced around £15. they have a folding foot that covers half of the front grid. Auto switch off when tipped. Grid can be touched when heater is on. 2 heating elements. AND we've left it on all night during the winter trips, just 1 bar, to keep the van aired.
Have used it alongside a fan heater in October to warm the awning for sitting late at night.
Have also boiled the kettle and watched TV while all switched on.
May have just been lucky.
