Hello folks,
Going off to Ireland at the end of May, arriving Larne 02.00 on a Saturday morning and would like somewhere to get a bit of kip not too far from the port. Obviously we don't want to go on to a site at that time of night so if anyone can suggest a quiet spot for the night I'd be much obliged.
Also any suggestions for wild camping along the North coast/ Donegal please and what sites to avoid. In fact anything of interest (pubs etc...)
Thank You

Hi there are some "aire" type parking spaces popping up here in N.Ireland. The best known one is in Broughshane, Co. Antrim near Ballymena. I pass this spot twice a week and there is always someone staying there all year round. It is a coin operated facility situated on the edge of the village.
I think there is one in Carrickfergus, beside the castle, and there is supposed to be one in Whitehead, both Co. Antrim.
Try www.wildcamping.co.uk and click on N.Ireland and I think his will get you what you want.
Hope this helps
Paul

Hi all,
I wild camp quiet a lot in County Galway and County Clare. I find quiet a few places to wild camp in and around Kinvara & Ballyvaughan (Co Clare, the Burren) near the sea.
I cannot speak for all, but i never had any problems, quiet the opposite in fact as i found a lot of the people i met friendly, and only too willing to reccommend other places to wild camp. I hope you enjoy your break and have fun.
Regards
KC.
