   hi all can anybody help me trace fault on my caravan 12v lights .

  they have blown 2 - 15amp fuses . I have disconnected connector from back

 of consumer unit and tested with my multi- meter it shows a dead short between positive and negative .         i cannot

separate circuits or find any joints. could it be one of the twin fluorescent light fittings. any ideas where to check next.

Does it still show a short with the tube/bulb removed?

Hello Dave.  You could also try disconecting the feed to the lighting units and testing for a short while disconnected.  (making sure loose end is safe of course). That should confirm if it is whithin the units or in the cable run.

    hi all    I think i have cured the fault ,i disconnected all lights and switches and found  a fault on one of spot the lights . i reconnected battery lights all worked ok..     going to scotland soon for weekend . thanks for your advise .i hope thats it
