Help!!!!!

We have the above vehicle and are desparately looking for an awning for it - with a bedroom annex would be really nice....

We have recently purchased the Spacemaker from Just Kampers.  I am concerned though as half of the poles appear to be aluminium and heavy.  I am just wondering therefore, if there are any others out there that may be suitable and am open to suggestions.

P.S  This is not for me but for a friend so do not be confused if you look at my outfit!!!

Check out www.campervanaccessories.co.uk and look for the Rodeo Sprint free standing drive-away awning, this may be suitable. We have just recently got one to go on the side of our people carrier, used it for the first time last weekend and it's great. The main poles are fibreglass sectional, with just two lightweight aluminium poles which go along the sides inside. Really easy to put up and take down (ignore the instructions and use common sense!) and it doesn't take long. It may be a bit dearer than some, but we think it's worth it - also it looks more like an awning and not just a tent with windows, which is basically what most campervan 'awnings' look like these days

We have a 'chalet' style awning, the French one - Cabanon ?  Anyway we haven't used it for ages as it is sooo big and heavy, but that said is a quality one.

Anyway, a lot of people rave about the Kyam awnings.  They are more money than the JK one, but are lot easier to put up.

There's a lot of VW shows happening at the moment where you might get some bargains.  Also just ask the owners, most people are more than happy to tell you about their experiences.

Khyam Motordome Tourer, great awning, easy and fast to erect, fits the T25 gutter perfectly. Buy the optional 2 berth inner tent and you`re sorted. Piece of 2m square eco-mat for an internal groundsheet does the trick   Very strong and resistant to bad weather and high winds, mine stood up to the extremes on the Isle of Man over Easter, where other awnings blew down.

I back what the others are saying about the khyam, after using an easycamp tunnel type awning last year, I was completely fed up with all the carry on when putting it up and went for the more expensive khyam classic to use this year and having just returned from a couple of days of camping ,it was definitely worth the cash ...total doddle to put up and take down... though is a bit bulky..

We used to have a spacemaker awning from JustKampers  & I know what you are saying about the weight of the poles -  we changed last year to a Khyam and haven't looked back.  We are just back from Volksfling and I timed my hubby when he was putting the awining up (in fairly fierce winds) and it took 7 mins with another 10 or so to put the pegs etc in.

Yeah the JK frame awining is weighty, but that does have its benefits when pitched, you also got all the poles inside that you can hang stuff on, very sturdy when pitched and you have high winds.

Tigermouse
Just wondered how you got on with the Rodeo Sprint in the longer term - we are thinking of getting one for our Eriba Troll. Nobody on the Eriba forum seems to have tried one yet so it would be a bit of a gamble but it looks like it should work in theory. I prefer the look of them to the Khyam Motordome classics which are popular for Eribas.
