Hi,

One of my side windows has a tear in the fly screen. I have fixed it with some gaffer tape (a necessary thing to have in the 'van) but wish to replace the fly screen. I do not want to replace the whole window and as of yet have not started to dismantle to unit tp see how the screen is fitted

Does anyone know a supplier for just the screen or would I have to replace the whole window?

Thanks

Sounds like new units (not replacement windows) as I am not sure you would be able to replace the material and refit into the mechanism – other idea is to try an industrial glue and spray the area with matching paint colour?

You could try and use masking tape to hold the material close together, glue the cut strands and then paint the whole area with car paint. When dry remove the masking tape and see what the outcome is like.

Worse case you’ve only spent a couple of £’s buying glue and paint, if it doesn’t look good, replace the unit.

Hi,

It on a Mclouis 430 motorhome (1999/2000), the fly screen is part of the window, in that you pull the fly screen down when the window is open to stop the bugs getting into the van, and the fly screen clips into the window base.
