Hi we have a t25 and a khyam family sleepover awning. We used our awning for the first time this weekend and it was great. We had plenty of space for all of us(3 in the awning and 2 sleeping in the camper)

We have a pole and clamp attachment to fit the awning to the camper which worked very well. My query is do you have a very flappy tunnel bit? The sides of the tunnel seemed much too big and no matter how i tried to peg them they bellowed in the wind.

Pitcures of how you peg yours might shed some light on it for me

Just re-read my post and realise i am not sounding very clear!

The bit that is confusing me is how to peg out the bottom of the attachment. We just couldn't get it taut around the sides. (perhaps it isn't meant to be?) Am i trying for a perfect fit that just isn't going to happen?

Yeah think you probably are trying to get too perfect a fit. The Khyam is a generic awning made to fit various vans so the fit will always be a compromise.

Ones like the Just Kampers awnings that are designed more to fit a VW size van would be a better fit but to be honest they also were still not perfect.

we have a VW too and used to have the Just Kampers Munich awning  - we now have a Khyam and while you do have a bit of a flappy bit its not nearly as bad as the JK awning.  The rain used to collect in the JK flap too.  Just be glad you've the Khyam -  its one of the best buys we've made for the camper.

JK have now nicked our idea  and have come up with a couple of poles that stretch out the connecter tunnel to stop the rain from pooling.

We're having a Khyam family sleepover delivered tomorrow We had the JK Spacemaker 2008 and had to send it back because in our opinion it was rubbish and wasn't designed to stand up to a little breeze, let alone what the British weather keeps giving us.

Hi Guys

We have the family Motordome from Khyam .. is this the one you mean

Suffice it to say it is incredibly strong. We went to Wadebridge last weekend and it stood firm while another friends tent collapsed in the storm at 4.00am .... BUT for my T2 i should have got the pole and clamp rather than the figure of eight which comes off in high winds!!!!

I also dont understand the bottom of the tunnel awning attachment ... why are therre not loops to attach with pegs in the normal way .....

We have a big tent now and room to sleep four in it .. incredible .... I am not sure why Khyam do not sell this format themselves FANTASTIC

Hi tombell, we got the pole and clamp attachment and it worked really well, and yes it is the bottom of the tunnel bit that has stumped me.

I have checked back through the instructions and khaym do mention that there could be excess fabric depending on which motorhome you are attaching it too. I will just keep fiddling with it until i am happy with the fit!

Hello spearson, the family sleepover is fantastic. We had stacks of room(there are five of us) and the awning is very sturdy and well made.(we are big fans of khyam already)

We originally bought the awning for weekends and planned on using our xxl classic for week long stays, but we will probably just used the camper and awning from now on.

I think we will too, seeing as we have the viking roof, we can put all the monsters up there
We had a go putting up for the first time in the garden today, wow a lot easier than pitching a tent, and it all fitted in the storage bag with room to spare!!

Khyam are very good providing big bags.We have never had any trouble fitting their tents back in.

We find the quick erect system so easy to use. Hubby and i don't argue anymore when pitching!

We did get quite a draft from under the camper(i have purchased a draft thingy which fits between the wheels of the bus but forgot to pack it! Hoping it cuts down on the breeze.

I will be able to tell you how flappy the tunnel is after the weekend because we are off tomorrow!

Bev made an awning skirt - she bought a tarpaulin and a couple of bungie ropes, does the trick ok. Again like you we have a habit of forgetting to pack it.

Steve
