Do M/home or C/van owners ever think of packing it in because of the weather,on some sites that have no hard standing and you know if you going to get booged down and will have trouble getting off,so dont bother going or booking if the area has had a lot off rain.

I'd have no hesitation in cancelling a trip planned due to bad weather. Nothing worse than getting bogged down in tons of mud.
If I have planned a trip using the motorway and its a bad day (i.e., raining hard/spray/visability probs, etc.) I would also leave it til another day or take the A roads instead.
If you're asking would I pack camping in altogether b/c of the weather - nope!
We are brand new to "campervanning" and just bought an old camper van two weeks ago we have been away both weekends so far, going away again tonight and have had a great time. We used to camp all the time so this is pure luxury!
To stop you getting bogged down in mud etc cut up some old carpet stow it away and use that under the wheels, just keep putting it under the wheels till you're clear!
I don't care about the weather just being away from all the stress at home is good enough for me..............................can't wait to go back to Portugal next winter though.

I always walk the pitch if I'm not sure, and if it's wet park facing downhill, wheels facing dead ahead, and ensure I can drive straight when I move off. So far I've never got stuck.
