Hi, where you go in your summer holidays?

I go in UK (Calais-Folkestone Euro tunnel).

I visit Scotland (Melrose Abbey, Wallace Monument, Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness, Skye Island, Glenfinnan Monument (and the bridge of Harry Potter Train).

Have you any advice? For example, the other interesting places... I love the landscape.

Any people go to Italy on in the other european countries, in this summer?

I visited Sweden, Holland (in spring it is very beautiful!!), Germany, little France (Normandy), Denmark...

If you have some questions on this Countries.... I help you ( I hope).

Regards and Nice day

Paola

Magari!!!!

Saluti

Paola

Gordon Bennett!  I don't understand all of this.  We had a brilliant holiday last year in Italy - mainly the Dolomites and the Lakes.  Superb scenery.  Superb food and "vino".  Superb weather.

Will that do?

Provided you use sites with at least 5 amp provision, a normal mains kettle should suffice.  It goes without saying, though, that if you're running your air con, fridge, microwave, water heater etc at the same time, it will trip out.  You just need to be sensible and aware.

During our recent trip to France and Belgium we tripped out once (my fault!).  I have a multikey which opens most site trip switch boxes and was able to leap out and correct the matter immediately.  The key won't open all boxes and is similar to the one used to open the external meter box at home.  I recommend you obtain one and take it with you.  I've had mine for some years and it's worth its weight in gold.  Unfortunately I can't remember where I bought it.

Another tip - it pays to take 2 electric hook up leads as some mainland European sites expect you to cope with long distances to the connection.  You should be aware that the longer the distance the greater is the cable loss of power. It's not a huge loss but it's something to bear in mind if the site only offers 5 amp.

Gordon Bennet, yuuu no undestan ehh  y u go 2 Italy 4 then ehh, y lern  a bit of the lingo, yu do good( taking the mick) yes the Dolomites are very beautiful, i have been there a the end of the winter or should that be beginning of spring 3 years ago and the scenery in places took my breath away, also the lakes, although i much prefer Lago D'Iseo, much more tranquil and peaceful, and the town itself is a very very short walk away with its shops and coffee bars. I'm actually thinking of stopping there again in september on my way down to Pompei.

Buy a kettle for the gas stove instead - 12v kettles are a total joke, great idea but totally impractical

Yes!  I agree about Lago d'Iseo.  Quite the most beautiful place we have been and seen on our travels. Campeggio Riva di San Pietro at Marone on the shores of the Lake is a fantastic site and highly recommended. Much better than any of the other Italian sites we have used - so very peaceful and right on the shore of this idyllic lake.

Actually, I know a little Italian  (words not a body) but having just returned from Belgium my brain is still addled by trying to understand Dutch/Flemish ......... so there!!!!
