anyone got any really good advice for products....
so many to choose from....am coming down on the side of something like 'glassplexin'.
motorhome is 8 yrs. old, fibreglass pretty oxidised now. motorhome is also pretty tall, and difficult to polish and maintain in conventional way.
would like product that could be applied, presumably would need cutting back beforehand.
some say up to 12 months, some say 2 yrs., some say 5 yrs....now that would be good.
any advice or help would be really appreciated.

Hi Kara, please note this is my advice and mine only, no doubt you will get other people with different ideas, anyhow for years i have been using MER it comes in a blue square sort of bottle, what i do ie i was advised, get yourself one of those garden spray bottle half a litre is plenty, wash the camper first i use one of those soft extendable brushes you can get at shows,(when the camper is dry) put 2 cupfull of mer in the bottle and fill up with lukewarm water, spray and sort of wash it with mer, you will find is good for windows as well, this will leave a film of the stuff, i usually do half camper at the time(mine is pretty big too) then go back with a good soft cloth and lots of elbow grease, and watch the shine come through. You can also use it neat on very hard to shift stains and tiny scratches, i even use it on the inside of my windows and the whole of my toilet/shower room, i certainly never had any problems with the stuff. Hope that helpedPS. do not spray it on the outside of the front screen, but you can on the inside. PS again i use small step ladders for the very top

thanks for that.....have used MER in the past....don't like the 'streaks' of product that filter down the windscreen - guess always a problem with waterbased products. The m'home needs more of a product than MER - the 'elbow grease' is not a problem once, but not to be repeated too often....hence looking for a longer term solution, although there will be quite a degree of 'recovery' work before applying whatever in the end. Have used a cutting compound, and polish for a pretty good finish for a month...then it is gone - due to degredation of fibreglass......at over 11ft. tall, it is difficult to get a solid footing, whilst trying to apply a lot of elbowgrease, or indeed, using a power polisher....and can only do a foot at a time, before having to move either the motorhome, or the trestle arrangement needed to reach the top. Hence wanting a product that will shine, and protect that shine, long term, while protecting the further degredation.

thanks guys for some of the comments.....unfortunately van lives only a few yards from the road....although pretty quiet, and gets quite mucky.
unfortunately, the rain here falls from the sky at pretty regular intervals, and brings all the dust, dirt, and black streaks down the rear and sides - I simply cannot safely, via steps and trestles, reach the roof to 'polish' regularly. The drive slopes, which makes it worse, and access is limited on both sides....sorry to sound such a wimp, but if fell off, no-one would see me for a month!
looks like might have to re-think (presume the GRP stuff would not be advisable on the aluminium painted sides. Have used Starbright marine cut and polish, supposed to be for boats, but the finish did not last a couple of months, and black streaks from the runner surrounding the windscreen still stained almost immediately.
what is the stuff with the glaze finish please....G10 Lunnie?
