We bought one of these and the sales guy (after a lengthy discussion) assured us it would fit the rear of our T4, it didn't.     We used it one night and took it back.   It was a good size, easy to erect and really what we wanted but it just didn't fit the van.   We're still on the lookout for something to fit.

No, we don't have a gutter rail fitted.  We think we might've found a solution as we actually want the rear door to open into the awning/canopy.  Watch this space.

We were at the BigChill festival at the weekend and I noticed a T4(or 5 ?),which had the rear "backed-under" the open side  of a Sunn camp day tent...I was impressed on just how well the width fit the van..

It was only a standard low roof van tho'...

I'm sorry I didn't get the exact model name..but I'm pretty sure it was just a day/utility tent,rather than a motorhome awning..

Hope this helps...

Edit:To say,

Just had a look on line..and I think it was the Sunncamp Day Room!(£89.99,from Outdoor MegaStore)..it did look to fit really well...

(I'd just enquire about the door width tho'...just in case I'm mistaken..)

Ive had the Auton delivered I hope it does fit. We had a tunnel type awning that was great for space but when you opened the door of the camper it caught on the part that attatched to the van.

No probs Ecosse..Hope it turns out to be suitable..

We've only had our van for just approaching a year now and I wish that we'd waited before we rushed into buying our awning(s)..

(..I think we bought three in as many months when we first had it! A movelite square/outdoor rev' easiporch/outdoor rev' easicanopi !)

...and to date,we've only ever used the porch awning...

(Anyone after an unused 2008 Movlite square??...)

Being new to the motorhome/campervan lark,we should have waited to see how we were actually going to use the van first..and as we've tended not to stay anywhere more than a couple of nights,we found that we hadn't  really bothered putting an awning up...a quick/easy pitch day tent or gazebo would have perhaps have been sufficient for us?!?

Having said all that,we've ended up,biting the bullet and have now had a wind out awning fitted!...

Got one of those too!   We were really lucky and bought one out of our local free ads paper, even got 2 sides with it!   We do use it all the time, sometimes with sides, sometimes without.   We also bought a 5ft high windbreak and totally enclosed the awning when the weather shut down on us for 2 days, it was great to have the extra dry space.   The only down side is having to take it all down if you need to move the van.
