We have bought a Movelite Square Awning from the link on here, the awning is fine but we have a problem with the Motorhome fixing kit which we bought with it for £14.99.

It is supposed to slide onto the awning channel in our Fiamma wind-out awning but no matter how hard we try it just won't fit, the beading is too thick to go into the channel. Has anyone else had this problem? If you did how did you resolve it. I have emailed the company explaining the problem but so far no response (what a surprise )

The awning channel on the leading edge of the Fiamma awnings is actually smaller than then standard awning rail(probably so you buy their panels etc!)

But even if it did slide in,as it's also slid into the drive-away,wouldn't that stop you from just "unhooking" it and driving away?

I've seen people connect their drive-away apron by "trapping" it,using the wind out.

No the driveaway kit attaches to the van and stays there then when you come back to site it attaches back on the awning, bit hard to explain really but it does work, or should work if only it would fit the awning channel on the van.

Thanks for your reply, its a good idea to trap it into the fiamma as long as it doesn't damage it. Thanks.

We bought a movelite along with our friends but they were given a standard awning channel kit which was too big to fit in the Fiamma awning channel.  We bought the kit especially for Fiamma awnings and it fits perfectly!

Thanks for that Michele50 I didn't realise there were two kinds of fixing kit. I bought the awning and fixing kit from Outdoor Mega Store and although I have emailed them 3 times at two different email addresses describing my problem I have had no response whatsoever. Brilliant customer relations don't you think, needless to say I won't be using them again.
