Just purchased an Autosleeper Ascot and it is fitted with a Thetford swivel loo and a seperate fill from outside flush tank.  In the booklet it states you fill on site - otherwise might leak and damage the vehicle.  Does any one ignore this and travel with tank full - does this cause it to leak, does anyone know??

Nope got the same loo as you, can't say that i've ever had a problem with mine. Think about it, it's a Motorhome & it 's meant to move on a regular/daily basis,

i always top up the water tank and the loo tank,, before i go away. never had a problem so far. hope that helps.

I would not travel with the Loo tank full of water. I carry  2x2 litre pop bottles full of water to top up and make a cuppa en route.

I would never nevr fill my water tank up. That amout of weight not to mention water slopping about will make your unit unstable

Er....... we're talking Motorhomes here, that are designed to carry full tanks of water thats why the clean/waste tanks are located between the ladder frame of the chassis so the unit does not become top heavy.

I travel with 50% full water tanks at all times & have never experianced any abnormal pitching or rolling

It doesn't seem to make any difference to our d'Ollie if the flush tank is empty or full - the ride is still superb.

However - I would never travel in mountains with the cassette even half full of the nasty stuff. The atmospheric pressure change can result in an explosion when the entry valve is opened.  This can have dire results with the nasty stuff all over the place and all over self!

It happened to us many years ago in the French Alps, never to be forgotten!
