Is it possible to get an adaptor for use in France if we run out of Calor gas and have to get a Camping Gaz cylinder?

I always carry a small camping Gaz cylinder and have both types of fittings

This one is used to connect the camping cylinder to the hose thats connected to the permanent new low pressure type regulator
Ebay item number 120286727258

Or if you were unlucky enough to run out of gas and the low pressure regulator was to go on the blink then this is the regulator type that would provide a suitable gas pressure working off the Camping Gaz cylinder.
Ebay item number 130249218613

Both types are available from a good camping outlet

Might be worth noting that Camping Gaz is Butane; so IF your trip to France is from now on it might be too cold in the night for it to gas off in the morning.
Below 6 C bottle temperature the gassing off ability is declining such that when down to zero C it is non existent.
Therefore say it drops to 4C during the night your heating will start in the morning but go out after too short a time. The smaller amount of liquid/gas you have left the sooner it gives up.
This time of the year you will need Propane.

Hi,

My question is in a similar vein!

I have a Tilley stove that has a small female threaded connector on the hose.

I understand that this type of stove was set up to be connected to a Camping Gaz bottle source.  Because of the prohibitive cost of new bottles and refilling Camping Gaz, I want to be able to run the stove off Calor Gas.  At the moment I have no intention of going abroad so I am not interested in Camping Gaz, neither do I intend camping out in sub-zero so Butane is good enough for me.

Many moons ago, I had an adaptor/valve that would do exactly what I am requesting, but with successive house moves in has been lost.

This adaptor accepted the stove connection on the outlet and the inlet connection screwed directly to the Calor bottle, (with the screw type connection), via a captive nut.  On the top was a black knob which controlled the flow of gas. The whole fitting, apart from the black plastic knob, was, I think, machined/cast from aluminium.

Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

If the stoves are old the hoses probaly need changing anyway, I think I read they should be changed every 4 years? Most caravan dealers change the hoses as a matter of course on every service.
