Hi, we have made our decision about buying an autosleeper on a peugeot body,as we only need one vehicle, I would have to drive it for shopping etc.I used to drive our VW with no problems, but this is somewhat bigger.
Does anyone else out there use an autosleeper for day to day use? How do you find it for parking etc?
We've only recently got rid of our '03 Duetto (Transit)and it tended to be used as my day to day vehicle...parking is not a major problem.
(I always tended to head for the for deserted parts of the car park anyway...although there always tended to be someone parked right, tight next to us when we came back!..even if the place was half empty! )
Height barriers are one major thing to remember though!
We have a AS Sussex (Symbol by another name) based on the previous model Boxer and for a lot of the year use it as an only vehicle. Mostly we find very little bother using it as an only vehicle, sometime hieght barriers prove an inconvienience and sometimes carparks are very tight to get into and when in, there is the worry of being knocked into while parked but you soon find the easy parking places even if it means walking a bit further or using a bus.
The wife would not be happy to use it while out on her own so we still keep a car to use winter months while at home.
just need a few bays at supermarket ,its just like when you are away on hols and go in to a new town looking for some were to park.you find a place in the end
only problem i find is going to a funeral in van .people do look
don't be put of go for it if its does not work then buy a bike lol.
i have just given my car to son am using our 22 ft van all the time till i get a new one
------------- do it to day it might be too late tomorow
The other thing that no one has mentioned is make sure that your Insurance company know that it is your only vehicle. There are a lot of companies out there at present offering very attractive rates to Motorhome owners. When you go into it properly, you'll find that the Motorhome has to be the second vehicle - Watch out for this dodge!
I have been using my Renault Master for day to day and not had any problems. The only trouble I can forsee is if you can only find a carpark that has a height restriction.
