Hi,go to commercials section, then you have the options, thats what I did.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
I first tried to get a quote on line but as I didn't have a registration number for my new van at the time I had to call them. The guy was really helpful trying to see how to get the premium down. One thing to try is to put your wife as the main driver (I couldn't do this as my wife has an outstanding claim) I did call a couple of times & each time I got a bit more off. My premium was £214 for a MH valued at £44k (I didn't pay that but I wanted to insure the full value to get new for old cover)
I fully expect to be shopping around for a different insurer next year as I can be reasonably certain the cost is more expensive for existing customers.
Sorry for not replying earlier but PHGV is Private Heavy Goods (over 3.5 ton)& is taxed at £165
Never renew a policy with Saga - always go for a new quote and you will get 1st year discount of at least 10% , Applies to motor and home insurances, also works with some other companies.
Saga m/home premiums vary considerably because, I think, their underwriting rules are quite strict - last time I asked for a quote they wouldnt because I park my m/home on a storage facility which isnt registered with the csa.
We got a qoute from Saga when ours was up for renewal, can't work them out.
Friends up the road, same postcode prctically, same age, same clean licence, vans same value and engine size, same base vehicle quoted us £120.00 more than them.
We stayed with Motor Caravan Insurance Company. St Neots
We also us Safeguard, and have been for 5 years or so. They are the only ones that quote under £500. Some companies refuse to cover, some are £1000 plus.
They state the postcode is a major problem, causing anything up to 60% loading to the policy.
I also used several comparison sites and SAGA came out the cheapest on all of them but as someone has already mentioned it will probably only be a one year introductory offer, I find it pays to shop around every year.
