Hi

Ive had the van in for a service / mot and theve just told me i have a mouse nest behind the dashboard/engine side , they have cleared it out and advised us to to set traps inside . My other half is pretty particular when it comes to hygeine and we have never seen any signs inside the habitation area.

We keep it stored in a locked barn with other motorhomes when we are not away . Anyone got any suggestions to the best way of keeping your motorhome free of vermin

My wife's nephew had the same problem in his yankie, but he kept his in the open but still had mice in it and in the engine bay, he got himself one of those gadgets that you keep plugged in and emit some kind of vibes/noise i don't know exactly what, but it worked, he has not had any more visitors since he fitted the gadget, you might be able to get one that works with batteries if no access to power. Do a google search, you might come up with an answer.

Lots of classic car owners get this as a problem: As wineciccio says, try the sonic mouse repellers. The more expensive ones seem to be more effective

Oh I like the sound of that!

I must try it,we get mice in the garage but last week I spotted RATS in the garden hoovering up around the bird feeder!

We keep the Motorhome on the drive so I do not want Rat,Rat,Ratty and all his mates invading the van so I wonder if they will dislike the Bounce tumble dry sheets?

Worth a try!

I got a field mouse in one of my cars last winter. The car is parked in front of my house and used daily. I think it was looking for somewhere warm and cosy. I noticed it was there because one morning I found it had eaten my Polos. I set a trap in the glovebox, baited with a piece of Mars Bar, and the poor little thing was a goner by next morning. None of his friends or relatives has tried it again.

Our house is invaded most winters by field mice. We've tried all sorts of the sonic plug in devices but I think Shropshire mice must be deaf. Much as I hate killing the pretty little creatures, I've found over the years that the only answer is metal mouse traps, baited with chocolate or cheese. Wooden traps are useless, they take the bait and leave the trap set.

Oh dear, who has upset the Motorhome facts people. They think mousey mousey is theirs and not to be shared. Small minded I think.
