Hi
I don't know how your van is set up regarding your main battery, why don't you fit a split relay charger on it very easy to do.everything in your van should be 12volt so a relay will do the same as 240,hookup.I have two good leisure batteries, the relay will firstly charge your main bettery, then your leisure batteries. The power you use i,e lights tv etc, will only come from your lleisure batteries, protecting your main one, every time you start your van up it starts charging. If you see a site you really like but has no hookup it isn't a problem.the size of your batteries doesn't really matter, but you need a relay to suit the size of them.I can't remember the exact size of amps you would need,so check with a good dealer.but a rough example is if you use a 90 ah battery relay would be about 100 amp two batteries wold be about 180,if you don't know to connect your batteries in tandem, get the autolec to do it.I hope this helps, make sure it is done by someone who knoows what they are doing.Happy camping.

Hi my friend, can you start this all over again, you say your M/H is 2006 so what kind of control unit is it fitted with, if i'm not mistaken all the latest M/H have a control panel that will charge both batteries re, the engine and the habitation, but NOT AT THE SAME TIME, therefore i would take another look at your control panel. When i bought my Talisman (2007) i was explained by the local dealer in Preston how it all worked, and it is a piece of cake when on H/U, and like you, mine is parked in driveway and if i know that its not going to be moved for TWO weeks then i will keep an eye on both batteries, but that seldom happens because we are always on the go with the camper. Roll on the 21/04/09 Italy here i come yet again.
