Hi everbody
can anyone tell me what is the correct make/type of fluid I should use in a VW T4 AUTOSLEEPER, I can find no mention of it in my manual,thanks in advance for that.
hope to go to Newark end of march (as a day visitor unfortunately)

           Surprised you haven,t had an anser yet but I would nip along to you,r nearest halfords and ask one of the guys in there but make sure it is the correct make,

This is a VW thing, not a specific camper thing. You should really ask your VW dealer, they would know. Or as tileman73 suggested try halfords

put atf in it  everyone else uses it and no problems are caused .

I have done it for years as have most other people.

I'd just use any power steering (ATF) fluid of the same colour (normally red).

I don't think there's much choice anyway. For technical advice, I'd steer clear of Halfords, they often don't know which way is up.

Just take your chassis number to your nearest VW van centre & they will tell you & sell you some.

why don't you try automatic transmission fluid thats meets dexron 2(aqm) that is reconmended by peugeot . peugeot pride them self on the oils they use. I worked at a nissan garage and their version was more watery than the peugeot  oil. I used comma version in my wifes peugeot and in my vauxhall .

Is there more than one sort of fluid to choose from? If I go into my local factor, he just asks what colour is it?
