Just opened an email from Brendon the fuel expert to say fuel prices to go up just under a penny in a fortnight. Been nothing in the press yet about it. Talk about stealth tax!!!!!!!
I'd rather sell the house - which is what I told my other half when was jobless - thankfully it didn't last long enough to be serious.
What annoys me is that the price varies so much up and down the country - and isn't diesel supposed to be cheaper that petrol? Or was that only whilst they persuaded everyone to move over to diesel??
OH how cynical I sound! obviously bed tim!

Diesel is now tax loaded because of the danger they "suddenly found" in the particulates it produces. It struck me as strange how they only found this danger when diesel became the fuel of choice for many drivers.

We, the poor old Brits, will take this lying down. We're not going to get up and protest:
There's a far higher percentage of cars in France that are diesel engined than here in the UK. I was astounded that when Diesel went up in price in France that our web-footed chums were not out burning down petrol stations
The cheaper diesel in France compared with petrol is due to taxation, most European countries tax diesel at a lower rate than diesel. In the UK diesel/petrol tax is indentical, the commodity price of diesel is higher that petrol due to demand(so they claim)& this is true thruout Europe.
The government has no interest in leaning on fuel companies to bring the price down as the tax revenues from highly profitable fuel companies is badly needed.
