just a thought is there a micro switch on the hot tap maybe it has stuck over the winter in the shut position .

Or it could be linked to your water heater  so a valve maybe have bocome stuck .

Thanks Delboy but I have been down all those roads to no avail. Even had the boiler on, it is capable of running with no water so "the book" says, do hope it is right.

If there is a valve I can't find it. I did wonder about disconecting some of the pipes round the boiler to see if anything came out but the pipes wont budge.

I have two drain down valves having got rid of the automatic thingy. If I open one the pump runs but still no water. It has to be an airlock somewhere.

Thinking caps on please or "expert" advice!!

We had a similar problem last year and found that if I opened the kitchen tap, thereby running the pump and then opened the bathroom tap we eventuually got water on both. 

The only other suggestion I have is pulling water through the hot system by sucking it up to the tap level or at least to a point above the pump.

good shot winks it could be logged with so much air the water can,t travel.

Thanks all. I like the idea of running the pump on cold and opening the hot.

Sorry folks. Tried all those tricks & no joy. The pump just does not run with the hot water taps. Must be an electrical fault somewhere.Give up and go to my "mender".

It's booked in for a service & MOT next thursday and he has been warned.

This sounds electrical to me as the pump should run even with no water in system,have you checked your 12v fuses, my habitation fuse box is under seat/bed locker

Its been to the menders, had its mot and service and the problem was a non return valve sticking, so now you know there is a non-return valve in the system/. I had no idea.

My mender is excellent and reasonable. Yippee!!

Had a great time in devon & cornwall with no problems.

Just read this thread...I've had the same problem.. the non return valve is in the cold water inlet connection at bottom right hand corner of the unit. all it is is a plastic valve and a spring, with a small rubber tap washer on the end. the washer gets wedged if the tank freezes.
