Just been to a site (I won't say which) where the drinking water point was at a double point enclosed with a 2 foot wall in the shape of the letter H. The adjoining outlet was unbelievably the chemical toilet disposal point. People were drawing fresh water and nearly bumping heads with other people emptying the loo   Can anyone explain how this can be right.   Wish I had got a picture   and I am talking about an otherwise clean and well run established site

    Or is it just me?

we always travel with as full a tank as poss and never bother to drain old water off before leaving van after a hol. if there is a lot of water left and its gonna be there for a while the next time we go away we use a seperate bottle for our drinking water.

quite often do that anyway - some times hose we had used to make water taste (wasn't food grade)

we also have a couple of sections of blue hose with a push on ta connector which is good for using bottled water to top up in emergancies when not on site

only cleaned our tank out once in four years becuase we found it left a horrible taste so just flushed it through with lots of fresh water next time - never got sick once

as for people using hoses/ taps  inapropriatly - this happens a lot in germany on the stellplatz we carried antiseptic wipes to clean taps before use. On one site recently i challenged a lady for using the hose set aside for motorhome water (it was not possible to remove it to use your own) for washing her dogs feet - she couldn't see a problem so i asked if she would like me to wash my dogs feet in her kettle but she still didn't get it!
