Hiya,

I've convinced hubby that a campervan would be great with the kids (we're canvas type of people at the moment) after seeing an old VW with 6people in it with  free standing awning.

I'm going to do my research now as I am desperate for one next season. I need to be able to fit in seats 2 adults and 3 kids safley is this possible in any VW, i'm more intrested in the transporters than type2's.

Any help would be great

Cheers

Hi zena,  one of my mates has just converted a T25 transporter mini bus into a motorhome, he has 2 kids and he says there is lots of room. The only thing he can fault is that it doesn't have a pop up roof. He is now on about selling the T25 and buying a T25 with a pop up roof because he can't get a high top into his garage. You can fit bunks into the pop up roofs,

Tony and Tracy.

Hi We have got a VW Type 25 transporter (see gallery pics).  It's a 4 berth. We've got 3 kids.  Myself and the little one go in the double bed in the roof, the other 2 girls go in the double bed at the bottom and my husband sleeps in the awning on a camp bed.  Awning also houses the toilet in a sectioned off corner (essential with kids!!!) But if you all want to sleep in the camper van - you need to look out for a 6 berth VW.  Its a Type 25 Viking I think they are called and it has a double bed in the bottom and two double beds in the roof.  Very spacious! Don't know what sort of price they go for - probably looking at £2000-£2500.  Hope this is of help.

Thanks guys,

a t25 is what i'm after with a pop up roof. We're not after sleeping everyone in it, just me and hubby as we are getting a bit soft!! I've seen some advertised with a row of seats so that they seat 6, i thnk we may have to look for one of those.

The hunt is now on to find one for next season.....can't wait  ; )

Cheers

Forgot to say we also can all fit in seated too.  Obviously I drive, hubby in passenger seat and three girls on seat at back with 3 seat belts.  All safe and sound.  Plenty of leg room too!

There seem to be a lot of VW's on ebay, too, though I've no idea whether they're good value.  One thing my son discovered is that people seem reluctant to buy from sellers in more remote areas (Glasgow, for example!), so you might get a bargain that way.

Good luck.
