Thank you Wyn for suggesting preloved!
I had a problem with my Cascade water heater not firing up on gas. I was apprehensive as in the 2yrs we've had the van have only used electric to heat water, and the gas for cooking
Gary on preloved suggested to someone with the same problem it could be dampness in burner and electrics, and described how to get access and dismantle.
I took off the outer cowl, the plate covering the burner and watched the flame before it cut-off. It was messy. I wire brushed the burner holes, and with my heat gun dried out the burner and gently warmed the electrics. No dismantling!
I left it a while to warm through, tried firing it up. The green light stayed on and the burner had even flame jets. Just a few minutes and water was getting warm.
