Hi all, We have a VW T4 that keeps chewing up alternator belts. Been to the garage a couple of times but still happening. Has anyone had this problem before, and if so, can anyone shed any light as to what it will take to stop it???
Thanks in advance, Mudling.

Hi, yes I did check for any rough parts on the pully & all seems OK. Haven't thought about the alignment though - will do tonight. It's one of those anoying things that takes away the confidence you need on a long journey.... We have Camperjam coming up, so must get it sorted by then! Thanks for both ideas.

I had a simalar problem years ago, it turned out that someone had replaced the altenator with a non compatable pulley, ie it was thinner than the crank shaft & water pump pulleys, thus under tension it would rip the outer skin (flat edge) off the belt
Why can you not be civilised people like every body else and have strawberry jam or black cherry jam or any other jam, but a CAMPERJAM, my my how on earth do you eat that???? right where is the bottle, more red stuff will cure my hangover.
